What is the best part of being a Safety Team member? - Helping participants to achieve their goals, knowing they are there to help an amazing charity. Very often they have personal reasons for raising money for meningitis - It makes me feel very humbled.
I dislike it when - people walk for 10 minutes and then give up.
I like it when - I see all those smiling faces on top of a hill.
Best piece of advice to someone starting their training? – Hills!! Walk up as many hills as you can, it sounds obvious but it is the best way to train.
Our UK treks and challenges couldn’t go ahead without our invaluable safety team and qualified mountain leaders. Each and every one of them retain expert knowledge, understanding and a passion for outdoor pursuits and the mountains we climb. They are on hand to ensure the wellbeing of our participants, navigating them through each trek safely and providing words of encouragement to help everyone complete their challenge.
