Dr Marie Yang O’Brien

Marie trained as a neuroscientist before transitioning into vaccinology, She is currently a Senior Lecturer at City St George’s, University of London, and a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow. Her research spans streptococcal infectious diseases and host immunity, with a strong translational focus on advancing vaccine development and defining correlates of protection. A core part of her current work centres on neonatal and maternal immunisation, particularly Group B Streptococcus.
