PIF TICK accreditation
With so much information available online, it can be difficult to know which health and care information is trustworthy. Run by the Patient Information Forum, the PIF TICK mark is the UK’s only independently assessed quality mark for health and care information. When you see the PIF TICK, you know the information is trusted, evidence-based and easy to use and understand.
From June 2025, you will start to see the PIF TICK logo on all our printed and online health and care information. This means our health and care information resources are certified under the PIF TICK accreditation scheme and will be assessed every year.
The PIF TICK symbol shows our supporters and healthcare professionals that our health and care information and resources:
- Have been produced to the highest possible standards using a documented process by trained staff
- They are trustworthy, up-to-date and evidence-based
- They are easy to use, understandable and jargon-free
- They are reviewed and updated every three years or when research or NHS and NICE guidelines indicate a change
Our Helpline and Information Nurse Manager, Claire Donovan says:
“I am pleased we have obtained the PIF TICK certificate. It demonstrates to our supporters and healthcare professionals that Meningitis Now has a robust production process – whether that is for developing new health and care literature or reviewing existing information and materials. We’re proud of this accreditation that shows all our health and care materials are trusted, up-to-date and accessible to anyone who needs information about meningitis."
