Tamsin B's Story
18-year-old Tamsin from North Yorkshire became ill with headaches, nosebleeds and fatigue during her A-levels. She was diagnosed with viral meningitis and recently reached out to Meningitis Now’s Helpline to get support for the after-effects like fatigue and brain fog she is still experiencing.

Mhairi E's Story
Mhairi from Fife had just moved out of her family home into her new flat when she became seriously unwell with vomiting, fainting and a headache. She was taken to hospital where she was diagnosed and treated for meningococcal septicaemia. She was taken to the ICU where she gradually had regain her strength and relearn skills like walking. Mhairi has now made a full recovery and shares her experience here.

Olivia’s fundraising walk to the hospital that saved her life
At 8-months old Olivia became seriously unwell and was rushed to hospital where she was treated for bacterial meningitis. In honour of the hospital that saved her life Olivia and a team of family and friends walked several miles from her home to The Portland Hospital to raise money for Meningitis Now. Together they raised an amazing £4,000!

Ellis B’s story
Samantha’s baby son Ellis fell ill with blisters in his mouth and lips and a high temperature. He was lethargic, rejected feeds and his skin was mottled and pale. He went to A&E and viral meningitis was diagnosed but now, four months later, he’s getting back to his normal self, as Samantha from Albrighton in the West Midlands tells us here.
