It is important to have a team you can trust
A brief overview of your role - what are you responsible for?
I am responsible for supporting our wonderful regional team of Community Support Officers offering direct support across the UK, our Rebuilding Futures Fund which provides financial support to individuals and families, our calendar of Support Events including Family Days, Forever Days and Believe and Achieve residential weekends, our online Facebook peer support groups offering a safe space to share experiences and support after a bereavement, and also our Believe & Achieve team who run a unique and amazing programme of support for 14-25year olds affected by meningitis.
Your favourite part of your role
I am very fortunate to work alongside a team of professional and compassionate colleagues who are all passionate about our cause and put people at the heart of everything we do. Supporting individuals and families to rebuild their lives following such a sudden and traumatic life-changing event will always be a challenge so it is important to have a team you can trust.
A fun fact about yourself
I am a poet and I didn’t know it! I have assumed responsibility for writing Leavers' poems when staff leave the charity for pastures new… Personalised poems mean a lot to people who have given us so much – so it is a privilege for me to acknowledge them in this way.
