I enjoy seeing the results of research we have funded being put to practical use
A brief overview of your role - what are you responsible for?
My role is varied and includes:
- Providing information and support to anyone who contacts our Helpline;
- Monitoring the progress of research projects funded by the charity and communicating the results to staff, supporters and other stakeholders;
- Keeping up to date with meningitis research in the UK and worldwide;
- Ensuring the information we provide on meningitis is accurate, accessible and up-to-date.
Your favourite part of your role
Seeing the results of research we have funded being put to practical use. For example, the MOSAIC study showed the true impact of MenB disease in children and young people and it provided evidence that has helped children get better support at school.
A fun fact about yourself
I have climbed an active volcano – Mt Stromboli – very exciting to stand at the edge of the crater in the dark and see the molten lava bubbling away.
How you can be contacted
I work part time - usually Mondays and Wednesdays. Email me at JaneB@meningitisnow.org or call Meningitis Now's head office on 01453 768 000.
