We are delighted to announce the winner of our Christmas Card competition is 13-year-old Lani whose card design is now available to purchase alongside our other cards. As always all money raised goes towards our work and makes a huge difference to those impacted by meningitis.

Harmonie smashes it in the pool
The irrepressible Harmonie-Rose has been at it again. Our Junior Ambassador took part in her first ever Para development swim meet recently and, in a social media post, mum Freya says “she smashed it!”

Walk for Lloyd fundraising recognised by Cumbria woman of the year nomination
Theresa is a part of Walk for Lloyd, a group of family and friends fundraising in memory of Lloyd Sutton who sadly died from meningitis last year, aged just 18. They have been fundraising for Meningitis Now and have raised an incredible £18,000 so far. Recently, their fundraising was recognised as Theresa, one of the eight organisers, was nominated for the Cumbria woman of the year award. She shares her story.

Supporting those with hearing loss after meningitis
In September, we hosted an online support event for adults aged 18+ who have hearing loss as a result of meningitis and for parents and carers of children who have hearing loss as a result of meningitis. We were delighted to have Rebecca Mansell, Chief Executive of the British Deaf Association, join us for this information session.

Amandeep and Arjun fighting back
Twenty-five people from the Leeds area are taking to the mat at the British Military Martial Arts centre in the city in November for a charity martial arts beginners’ class. Ribbon Appeal
Every year, we remember those who have lost their lives to meningitis by adorning our Tree of Remembrance with ribbon dedications from our supporters. A talented DJ with his whole future ahead of him, 25-year-old Alex from Leeds tragically died in 2020 after contracting meningitis. His mum, Sue, has shared her son’s story in support of our annual Ribbon Appeal, which offers everyone the chance to remember their loved ones and donate to fight back against this devastating disease.
